This summer, wildfires have once again scarred forests, destroyed habitats and changed lives across Europe, America and many other parts of the world. Homes, memories, entire landscapes and, most painfully, lives have been lost. Countless animals have also lost their lives, their habitats and the places they once called home. Some things can never be replaced. This little story is not meant to diminish that loss or pretend that everything simply grows back and becomes whole again. I made it for everyone who has been affected and as a small reminder of something I desperately want to believe: Even when everything seems lost, hope can return. Nature is stronger than we sometimes think. Given enough time, life finds its way back. A tiny green shoot. A single flower. The first birdsong after the silence. Climate change is making that recovery harder, with increasing heat, drought and dangerous fire conditions putting ecosystems under enormous pressure. And still… nature keeps giving us these tiny signs of hope. Maybe we need them too. Not because they undo what happened. Not because they make the loss hurt any less. But because even after the darkest moments, somehow, life has to find a way forward. And sometimes one small flower is enough to remind us that the story isn’t over yet. 🌼 After the fire… hope still grows.
