@leavingfaith: Replying to @🦕 ORyan Even if objective morals exist, you would have to access them through your subjective human brain #moral #deconstruction #exchristian
Whenever they make such claims, just point them to Germany. a whole country was majority Christian before becoming nazi Germany. those morals didn't do anything, it helped speed up Nazism. LOL.

I love your last statement: if the Holy Spirit spoke to everyone, then Christians would all agree- and they don’t

This points at something that confuses me about faith, at least in the way that so many Christians talk about it. You’ll hear some Christians say that they know God’s objective morality through their faith and go on to say that in faith there is no doubt. But we are all faulty, fallible, imperfect human beings and Christians may believe that God’s word is perfect but to believe that their understanding is without doubt also perfect is hubris, the sin of pride, the very sin that led to Lucifer’s fall, the origin of evil, yes?

But that’s the whole point as to why relying on human morality is fallacious. And the argument as to why certain laws are no longer enforced is because there is a progression along human understanding. At the tine the Bible was written “eye for an eye” was the form of justice understood by humans of that era. God has to work laws into ways humans of their time can understand. It’s no longer applicable because Jesus acknowledged an ever progressing understanding in humanity through the ages. We view it as detestable now, but back then it was justice in the understanding of early humans. That’s the way I put it

Sankhya 🇿🇦🇫🇯🇮🇳 :
Plato posed the question “Is a thing good because a celestial authority [a god] commands it, or does a celestial authority [a god] command it because it is good?” If the first, then morality is arbitrary, (a celestial authority [a god] could’ve commanded torture and we would call it virtue) If the second, then there exists a standard of goodness independent of a celestial authority [a god] and we can consult it without the middleman. Thus either the celestial authority [a god] is a tyrant or IT is unnecessary. The believer does have a third option which is to refuse to answer the question and call it “mystery”. The claim that morality comes from a celestial authority [a god] is false and a delusion (note: the golden rule is older than every religion that claims to have invented it - Confucius said it, the Egyptians said it and every mother in every village said it to children) Religion posits that a celestial authority [a god] gave us morality, it did not give us morality, Religion borrowed our morality and embarked on selling it back to us at a markup, with eternal consequences for late payment.

No ,God tells what is right from wrong ,good from bad .
But this is something we first have to agree upon all and this is the problem.

Morality is easy. I want to exist freely and have the opportunity to thrive. I assume others want the same. Done.

Without “God’s existence” as a premise, the entire labyrinthine argument falls apart: just words words words. And OF COURSE, OBVIOUSLY, there ‘s no god, no sin, no divine punishments or rewards. And so no debate.

Their arguments fall flat when they cannot even demonstrate this God to exist. Let alone get their morality from such a being.

When someone bases their actions on the rules and commandments of a divine authority, that hast nothing to do with morality. That's Just obedience. That's following orders.

Yes, is all things are relative because every time you read the Bible you negotiate its meaning according to all the things that make us who we are. And every person interprets it according to their spot in life

Honoring parents would be being respectful to them and always treat them right.
Being kind to them ,if they need help you help them.
Obey them your intellect guide you in that way and then revelation from God comes and confirms yess this is the right way.

"Objective morality" doesn't even make sense as a concept.
I think when christians say that, they rather mean "definitive" morality," one ultimate set of moral rules that's laid out in gods word.
The simple fact that Christians do disagree on questions of morality and do commit immoral acts plainly proves this idea wrong.

Is loving someone objectively moral? If you say “not if they’re of the same sex” that morality has automatically become relativistic. Not objective. It is, by definition, dependent on the circumstances.
