@damizain: Unfortunately, Angelista’s experience isn’t the first and won’t be the last. Many black women have come off the show sharing the lack of inclusivity on the show and to be honest we saw it clear as day in Season 13 too! The needle isn’t moving. #LoveIsland #loveislanduk #weneedtotalk #dbrief #whattowatch
Angelista is not just Dark skinned black women shes Zim

The producers are never gonna change and that’s why their views will always be low compare to USA if the inclusion and diversity range for ppl is not improved I can honestly see this show closing down soon as well

I swear when it comes to the men this season they must’ve cast Nazis or something none of them wanted black women it was so bad. Even Mara came out and said she felt ugly in the villa because no one wanted her

We only have ourselves to blame we as a community need to do our own shows other than pop the balloon and stop relying on Love Island to break barriers let’s do our own ting

Angie had men that wanted her in casa such as Carlos and Aaron but she seems to feel she was tied to Simba….maybe she felt the Casa boys weren’t genuine when moving to her which is fine.

Exactly how I feel, like I’m sorry she went through that but I wasn’t moved hearing her. Why did she think she’d be an exception to every other BW who has been on that show

Also shows the diff beteeen equality and equity. Equality is having people of all nationalities on the show. Equity is having people who don’t only date “blondes and brunettes” on the show

Exactly! if the producers don’t care it’s becoming abundantly clear if we didn’t know before we definitely know now! What I take umbrage to is we have found them out and they still don’t care 🤷

Not even just that even the uk production and challenges compared to the USA the uk is flopping but the producers won’t ever change it will be the same story for the black girl next year and onwards

I couldn’t agree more with all your points 👏🏿. I do think Love Island UK assumed its core audience was mainly white women, with a smaller number of white men, and I think that assumption has now caught them out.
I’m genuinely interested to see what direction they take next. I get the impression they worry that putting too much focus on Black love, or showing more Black women with white men who are genuinely attracted to Black women, could alienate parts of their core white audience.
At the same time, they probably don’t know how to strike the right balance without upsetting or offending one side or the other 🤷🏿♂️. That seems to be the position they’ve got themselves into.
