Nah we got school shootings, bullying to the point where kids are getting lynched in the bathroom and so forth. Yeah no a kid needs a phone for emergencies

liked, unliked, reliked. Our school district banned phones before the state did because a hs teacher had been recorded physically and verbally abusing a student. My son has called me ONCE during school hours because there was an active sh00ter threat. We as a country need to get our sh!t together, instead we just hide our faces in the sand and pretend if things aren't recorded/reported it's not happening.

My parents are divorced and I’ve had my phone since I was 6. The vast majority of students don’t go on their phones in class unless permitted, administrators just don’t want to admit it

There was an incident at my highschool with “firearm dispute” on campus and none of the teachers or students knew how bad the situation was, just that we needed to go into lockdown. Our phones were our only way to potentially say our last goodbyes or update our parents. Banning phones wouldn’t have saved Uvalde, Parkland, or any of the other schools.

ive had my phone all though school and yeah I best believe I used it when I needed my mom. they didnt let me call or talk 2 her sometimes, also I was an honor roll student as well

As someone in school, If I was going to be distracted in class, Im going to be distracted with or without my phone. The phone ban didnt make me pay attention in math, Im just gazing at the wall now instead.

She’s right but she’s so very wrong. They do be sending messed up things back and forth all day long, but at the end of the day people forget why phones exist, a means of communication when you need it most.
