I’m already seeing it and I hate it. Funnily enough scholars agree that earths “current maximum capacity” is 2.5 billion because of how much the west (specifically corporations) over consume energy. If resources were fairly distributed “maximum capacity” would be 12 billion, but also we seem to forget that humans keep finding ways to push that capacity threshold higher.

the thought process of "human beings are an invasive species" is the beginning of the waterslide down into full blown ecofacism. I roll my eyes whenever somebody comments that under posts about invasive species, because we literally arent. humanity has been living in various regions across the world in tandem with nature so much so we have varying physical adaptations like eye colour and skin colour. the threat is late stage capitalism, facism and fatalistic greed.

This is completely correct. Even when they stop denying climate change they will not pursue equitable environmental policy, but will instead pick one scapegoat group at a time to cut out of society while preserving the high consumption lifestyles for the in group.

I think I’m more anti-nataist in the sense that there are so many foster and orphan children that once I’m ready for a child that’s the option I want to go with and I think that more parents should do that. But I don’t think I should describe myself as that anymore lol. Because you’re totally right, the right would move to something like that.

So, that immediately means Europe (I’m from Europe), as our per capita pollution is among the highest in the world. So, I asked point blanc: who should die first? I feel like I’m already starting to see this. If you scroll through any popular subreddit you’ll come across videos every day that are essentially slandering India. Sometimes it’s making fun of their street food, or talking about how unsafe parts of it are, or sometimes it’s just a post talking about how crazy the pollution issues are there. Most of these aren’t made in good faith and the comments are filled with people dog piling the entire country. Part of me wonders if this is just conservatives trying to dehumanize a group of people that as you said, are already dying from climate change.

That sounds plausible. They did this with oil. Just started pushing other fossils and new permits to drill on US land. It didn't make them pro renewable energy because their moral framework (or lack thereof) is fundamentally different.
