@drdavidabbasi: 🚫MYTH: Weightlifting stunts growth in kids🩺 This is one of the most persistent myths in youth fitness, and it's just not true. Decades of research have found no evidence that properly supervised strength training stunts growth or damages growth plates in children or teens. The confusion likely comes from rare cases of growth plate injuries, which do happen, but they're almost always the result of poor form, improper supervision, or lifting weight that's way too heavy for the child's ability, not from strength training itself. In fact, when done correctly, weightlifting in kids has been shown to improve bone density, coordination, strength, and even reduce the risk of sports injuries down the line💪 The key is proper technique, age-appropriate programming, and qualified supervision, not avoiding strength training altogether. Skipping it out of fear isn't protecting your kid, it may actually be holding them back🌴 ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips!😷Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! I just want to cause an argument- what’s the average height to any professional bodybuilder vs professional basketball player-football-swimmer ?? Which one lifts weights the most ?? Is that enough evidence ??

from what I've seen or heard it's more lifting / exercise the wrong way can break a growth plate on your body or you can damage your growth hormones with certain muscle tears in certain areas happens to some gymnastics kiddos and then they stay short
