Einstein did not go far enough: mass does not distort spacetime, but mass IS spacetime. particles will follow the geodesic curves of spacetime. if there is no spacetime/mass, a particle will go straight a particle, let's say a photon or electron approaches an atom. it will follow the geodesic curves of spacetime (mass). let's ignore the cases where it hits something, and just passes through the atomic system. which way it goes depends on the direction it came from etc etc, like a comet passing through the solar system. there can be many of such interactions, and ON AVERAGE, the particle will go where there is the most spacetime/mass. this LOOKS like gravity. for new physics and cosmology, see Tiktok @wim2338.
