@thepottymouthguru: One of the shittiest things about shame is how quickly it can make you leave yourself. Someone’s disappointed in you and suddenly you’re scrambling to prove you’re good. Explaining. Fixing. Performing. Apologizing for your entire existence. Doing whatever you can to make the feeling go away. And sometimes that works. They reassure you. They forgive you. They stay. But if your sense of okayness depends on getting that response, you’re still handing someone else the keys. This part of the work is learning that you can feel exposed, imperfect, misunderstood, even rejected…and still stay on your own fucking side. Not “I did nothing wrong.” Just: I’m not going to turn against myself because something went wrong. ❤️🤟🏻🌿 #UNFUCKYOURSELF #THEPOTTYMOUTHGURU #ShameHealing #Shame #PartsWork
So incredibly helpful, I love how you get into the nitty gritty

Mistakes have always felt dangerous to me, but it was keeping me small. Now I'm actively training my nervous system to notice when I make a mistake and also notice that nothing horrible happened and that I'm not in danger 💖

Wow so helpful for me. I immediately for into flight 🏃🏽♀️💨 mode and leave the conversation. Which triggers them and reacts(takes it as rejection).

And staying on your own side does NOT mean automatically deciding you’re right. 😂 You can realize you were completely wrong and still not make yourself the enemy. That’s kind of the whole assignment. ❤️🤟🏻🌿
