It was an odd double standard. Barbarians are strange. Druids sacrifice people. They worship strange gods. They need to be civilised. So they kill them and desecrate their groves. Romans then watched said barbarians fight one another to remind themselves they were civilised. It’s “people as things.” Oh. Boudicca was condemned for crucifying Romans. Where did she learn how to do that?

wait! hold up! coloseum fights were MOSTLY never till death, ONLY exceptions were death penalty (given rarely as slaves>corpses) or accidents and infections, other than that there was not much death in the arena

Only like 1 in 10 gladiator fights ended in death. Maybe less actually. It was like the WWE of today except it was more deadly. It didn’t pay well for trained gladiators to die frequently

that was a common thing the Romans like to do, is to say that such and such people perform human sacrifice. which may have been occasionally true, and something that occasionally happen. but they would show up and crucify how the population, and through the other half into slavery.

There isn't really solid evidence that they did do human sacrifice, it's more likely if was propaganda that it is real. Read blood and mistletoe, very interesting
