Get yourself a zip tip and make it the size of a hair tie, then cut the excess end off. Your cat will love it and will never be able to break or swallow it.

We have Pet insurance and it's been great. That being said, both of my cats don't try to eat anything other than food. They love whacking the absolute shit out of a hair tie and chasing after it going as fast as they can
