First, to say nobody does this is absurd. This is a really big country. I bet lots of people do it. In fact I built a shed that way a couple months ago. However, trusses are engineered, so are generally stronger while using less material. They also install faster. Since both labor and materials costs are significant on a construction project, trusses roof construction is generally preferred on any wood framed building of substantial size.

Without hurricane hangers holding it to the bottom rough in......a strong wind can suck it...off..... nails alone won't hold it down.... they need metal to wood hurricane strapping to keep everything together

Because we have companies that manufactured the trusses for you and come out with a crane truck and lift them and put them in place you just nail them down quicker cost-efficient

because to do a span of any real size , we don't have enough of old growth trees and stable lumber to do it this way , for small sheds or buildings or small extensions , we do it like this still

Another AI bullshit post. Trusses are always give more structural integrity and load carrying capacity. And I didn’t see a single “heavy beam” in the entire video - I saw 2x6 rafters.
