Even though things are different now, and this illness has changed so much of our daily reality, it cannot erase the foundation you built. I want you to know, deeply and completely, that you were exactly the mom I needed. Because of you, because of your presence in my life, I am the person I am today. You gave me the strength to stand on my own feet and the capacity to love deeply, even when things are hard. Thank you for every single part of our journey. Thank you for the good times, the laughter, and the beautiful memories that belong strictly to us. And thank you even for the hard times, because they taught us how to endure, how to forgive, and how to stay connected. I love you for all of it—the light moments, the complicated moments, and the quiet ones. You did a wonderful job raising me, Mom. I am here, I am okay, and my love for you is absolute and unchanging.
