It was my first day/night at the studio. My gf and I are on a “break” that we hope won’t last. I’m trying to become a fulltime artist—I don’t know what I’m doing. I had a manic/psychotic episode in May. The new puppy didn’t help with my anxiety afterwards. I went to Copenhagen alone. There’s been so much pain, but I’m gonna start going to the gym so I can stay positive and also take showers; there’s no bathroom in here. I guess this can be the introduction I have been so anxious to try to record—I can never decide how to present myself. Social media causes an egoistical aesthetic trap that I’ve never been able to overcome. This will suffice. It will have to. Anyway, I want to make sculptures, photograph them, then make linocuts and print them, like Franz Gertsch but I make the subject of the photo myself. Maybe that’s my delusion, but perhaps the difference between delusional and successfully realistic is only perseverence. I used to be a writer, still am, but never could be consistent. That’s what this whole thing is about, becoming and staying consistent; some good art and a living would ice the cake. If writing, and inshallah singing—my first love—get incorporated, then I’ll be as happy as I could ever be. I’m just tired of starting over, of having identity crises, of not knowing who or what I really am. Hopefully she’ll wait for me to find out. Wouldn’t that be a dream? I can’t afford therapy for now, but using my hands should help. I have to stay humble, check my impulses, dive in. I also need to end this caption because my story is too long to continue telling it here. And who cares, after all? #art #artist #makingart #ceramics #studio #life #Lifestyle #MentalHealth #clay #sculpture #artstudio #seattle #artistsoftiktok #studioapartment #lifestory
