Wild dogs behave like humans. The one at the front is the leader of the pack and he or she is the one who decides where to go and everyone follows. However, that high position comes with consequences if something goes wrong like in this situation. That leader was stripped of the leadership position later that day by those who survived. The leader definitely got bitten like never before and someone else took over. The biting also happens if the leader leads to a dry hunt or fails to pin point a water hole. Their survival strategy is extremely exciting.
