@manskis_wellness: Too much stress can damage your stomach lining by increasing stomach acid production, decreasing your protective mucus layer that shields your stomach lining and reducing blood away from your GI tract. When there is too much acid and your protective barrier is also weak, this is when it can lead to more serious problems like stress induced gastritis (my experience🫡) and even ulcers because of the irritation and inflammation. If your stomach is always uncomfortable, you're nauseous, struggle with bloating and indigestion/acid reflux nonstop - this is a sign your stomach lining may need some support. After realizing just how much chronic stress has been affecting my body, I’ve had to completely change the way I’m eating for the time being. That means no caffeine (yes even a sip of matcha is super painful right now🥺), tomatoes, spicy foods and acidic foods (yup vit C deficient over here). My meals right now are VERY different from what I’d normally eat - simple, bland, easy-to-digest foods that I personally tolerate well while I work on getting my gut back to a better place. Here’s an example of what a day of eating has been looking like.. 🍌 Banana egg oat pancakes + bone broth 🥣 Yogurt + baked apples + freshly ground pumpkin & flax 🍠 Pumpkin, sweet potato, bone broth & applesauce soup (side of sardines for protein) 🍯 Air-fried banana + yogurt + Manuka honey 🐟 Salmon + zucchini + potatoes (+ couple dates for dessert) Nothing fancy. Nothing IG worthy 😂 Just simple foods that feel good for me right now while I focus on nourishment, adequate protein and giving my body a break. And honestly, this experience has made me realize how much stress management is a part of gut AND hormone health, too. Nutrition matters, but so does creating a lifestyle where your body actually has a chance to rest and recover! I’m sharing this because I know so many of you have asked what I’m eating while dealing with this - and hopefully it gives you a few gentle meal ideas if you’re going through a similar season❤️ Comment what foods, snacks and meals you have been eating lately if you are also on a bland diet currently! #gastritis #StressRelief #guthealing #chronicstress #hormonenutritionist
