The vastness of the universe and the Milky Way is truly beyond the limits of human imagination. What we have come to know about the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and the millions—even billions—of celestial objects is merely a tiny fraction of Allah’s magnificent creation.
Human beings may be able to explore a small part of outer space through the knowledge and technology Allah has granted us. Yet the true reality of the unseen world, the seven heavens, and everything beyond human knowledge remains a secret known only to Allah.
In Islam, the event of Isra’ and Mi’raj was the extraordinary journey of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, whom Allah took through the heavens. It is not something that can simply be measured by human physical abilities or scientific understanding, because it was a miracle and a manifestation of the power of Allah.
What we see in the heavens today is only a small glimpse of the greatness of His creation. As for Allah’s Kursi and His ‘Arsh, we cannot comprehend their true reality or عظمت with the limitations of the human mind. Allah alone has complete knowledge of the unseen and of everything in the heavens and the Earth.
Therefore, let us not become arrogant or boastful about what we possess—our position, wealth, possessions, beauty, knowledge, or status. Everything is merely a trust and a temporary blessing from Allah.
No matter how high our position may be in this world, ultimately, we will all return to Him.
This world is temporary.
Wealth will be left behind.
Positions will come to an end.
Life will eventually pass.
And this worldly existence will one day reach its conclusion.
What remains is the Hereafter—the eternal life in which we will return to Allah and face the consequences of our deeds, according to His justice and decree.
May contemplating the vastness of the universe remind us of how small we truly are before the greatness of Allah; may it make us more humble, more grateful, and less inclined to be arrogant.
“And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little.”
