Fun fact! I ordered as gaeilge in Alberta Canada at a restaurant and they answered back! mind you the woman that owns the restaurant is Irish.

a lot of takeaways have foreign workers... when you think about it, it's not their fault when the native people of Ireland don't even speak the language, so why should immigrants be expected to be fluent in both Irish and english? my opinion on these videos had changed

What i dont get is why they don’t apologize. If it were me and I lived somewhere where I don’t speak the language I’d be like “I am so sorry I don’t speak Gaelic, let me see if anyone here does” and if not then I would apologize again.

Love these videos, but you guys have to understand most of the people that answer are not even from ireland, most of the fast food places is mostly immigrants working there. I’m an immigrant in Ireland and know that most irish people don’t speak irish, that’s true, but I really admire the culture. They have Irish in the school, and everything from transportation, to street names, to even elevators, you’ll have it in irish after the English bit. I know it doesn’t take the English part away and if you know the history, it’s sad that most none of irish people even speak their native language, but at least the government and the people that implement this things don’t let it d*e
