@soupygarbagejuice: PUCK FAIR: Ireland's oldest festival, documented back 400 years but likely much older. A wild goat is caught, crowned as king, and placed atop a 55 foot tower to reign as "Ireland's Only King" for 3 days. Festivities include markets, music, rides, horse & cattle trade, and most importantly- drinking. For the last few years his majesty has been lowered and given a break for the second day, but the sentiment remains the same. Part 1 of my upcoming series on goat festivals around the world.
