It’s full of soul and history!!! That use to be a hotel for celebrity people of color that would come to tampa to perform !! Because The FLORIDIAN HOTEL downtown wouldn’t allow people of color to rent rooms

It’s protected by our ancestors… it was the only “black hotel” in Tampa. The greatest from BB King to Nat King Cole stayed here

That’s the Jackson house. They’re trying to get it permitted to turn into a museum due to the historical significance. But 717 owns the parking lot right next to it and they’re not willing to give up their space.

Lmao that’s an old slave quarters. It’s historic,there is a plaque outside of it explaining. They have plans to do something with it to keep it standing. Until then it’s held together by the old ancestors.

This house was the only place Black entertainers could stay. It wasnt only the Jackson’s, it was all black entertainers, that came to Tampa to do concerts. But on the real i don’t think it’s repairable.

they're being kept for history projects they're going to restore them. we got hit bad in those hurricanes a couple yrs back and a lot of my city had old houses. but why tare them down when they can restore them cuz they're absolutely beautiful

When I go to Publix, I always check on the house. Yep…still standing 😅. I wish the city would preserve it, it has so much history. 😕
