@dailyburdens: Apparently Oreo has decided we are co-parenting a squirrel now. 😂🐿️🐈‍⬛ Meet our unexpected little houseguest. 🤎 We couldn't locate his mom or find a nest to safely return him to, so we took him to the vet to make sure we were doing the right thing. They gave us instructions for caring for him while he gets strong enough to return to the wild and apparently Oreo understood the assignment. 🥹 He is SO gentle with him. This was Oreo literally reaching over and softly petting the baby and I cannot handle it. 😭 Our goal isn't to make a wild squirrel a pet. It's to give this little guy the best chance possible to grow, get healthy, learn to be a squirrel, and eventually go back where he belongs. 🌳🐿️ I'll share his progress because I'm pretty sure we're all emotionally invested now. 😂 Also, if you ever find an orphaned baby squirrel, please contact a wildlife rehabilitator or veterinarian first.
