The shows are high quality too. Way less of that over saturated Netflix lighting that makes no sense. Ex. Silo and Widows Bay both have actual film quality along with interesting story.

They can afford a medium term loss because TV gets subsidized by all their other income. I'm pretty sure this is a well thought out strategy to build up a premium content backlog and more importantly a reputation. They are learning from what happened at Netflix. Nobody even starts watching new shows on Netflix anymore because they're afraid of it getting canceled. Apple is doing the exact opposite by committing early and hard. They rely on word of mouth marketing and are improving brand reputation by sticking to their shows. It will pay of long term not only for appleTV but for the apple brand as a whole.
