Just finished episode 3. it wasnt that bad but I wish there was a little more with sinestro from the end of episode 2 (ik he was in the end credit scene but I still think they should've done more with him)

This is such dumb writing imo pitting them against each other. In NO comics or ANY adaptation, except this one, did Hal Jordan EVER see John Stewart as a threat or adversary. It was ALWAYS just mutual respect, mentorship, and brotherhood between the two.

The Guardians are definitely withholding the Rings, not letting John, Guy and Hal be Green Lanterns at the same time because they know their combined will could prove a threat to them, so they’re going with the safest option to replace Hal whose become problematic to them, John, whose been basically conditioned to follow their orders, while both Hal and Guy often go out of their way to disobey them if it means saving people, not saying John wouldn’t do the same, but the Guardians believe he’s more controllable than Guy and especially Hal, that’s why they want him replacing Hal even though I’m positive they enough Rings to give to all three

I really hope that we see John find the willpower (ha) to break free from everyone’s expectations. His parents were mad a white man got the job so they made it John’s problem and forced him into this “destiny”, the Guardians want someone who will be a good soldier and follow orders without question, and Hal sees him as a nuisance ready to steal his identity. I wonder if that’s why Guy Gardner has the ring instead of John.

I don’t see where the hype for this episode was. I understand it’s the back story and it was decent, I don’t think it was bad but the delivery that John would be a replacement and not a backup for Hal could’ve been what all the hype was about, not the episode but the reveal
