I had my knee done back on July 22. Needless to say I don’t have the full range of motion that the doctor wants me to have at this point so six more sessions of PT have been added on. I was also released for light duty at almost 3 weeks. I am a preschool/pre-K teacher if that tells you anything I am pretty sure I’m overdoing it but what choice do I have anyway still showing some swelling and I’m pretty sure I have fluid under my kneecap because it seems to just be floating around and I can push down on it and it just kind of will pop back up so that’s kind of weird AnyWho we will see what happens. Good luck with yours. This is not fun. That’s for sure.

wow age 74 had first LKR 5/31/24 and RKR 9/20/24 dr said my knees were really bad,bone on bone but had none of these problems people on here write about i had no one to help me did everything myself Pt 3xweek x 3 weeks none the second just did my exercises used my star stepper i’m now 76 no issues but think depends on your surgeon went on cruise 11/03/25 walked the gang way so great keep being positive ever surgery is different best to u PS don’t be a hater on people that do well they say takes a year💕

Week 4-5 I thought oh this is good not really too much pain after the initial awful constant pain. I’m week 7 going onto 8 and there’s pain again, different types of pain. Am I doing more probably but I’m not going out yet, only drove once to see if I could. I keep remembering my surgeon when he came to see me after my operation saying don’t do too much. He had his own knee replacement and told me in great detail the pain that was coming. Hugs to you

Nuclear bone scan is another test they can do to rule out loosening/infection. Hang in there! Mine was terrible

Had mine July 6th, so just starting week 9. I am STRUGGLING! I'm 46 so pretty young for this. I thought it would be a breeze. HAHAHAHA. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. I am so over it. I just hit 114° last Thursday. I still have major instability and use a walker at home and 1 crutch everywhere else. I had to have mine done because my kneecap would not stop dislocating and had worn my joint down to nothing. So im thinking most of my trials Now... are mental. I pray you find some relief and answers

I had TKR ( in London) 2 months ago. You go through phases, I thought i was progressing well, bit of a problem with the bend. After 5 weeks had terrible pain behind knee and thigh. Physio said because doing more standing, walking etc and its like the muscles and nervous system have to re wire and take time to trust the artificial joint.

I’m 8 weeks out. I am so over it. Pain 24/7. My insurance only gave me 12 PT visits so I feel like I have gone backwards.

Your TKR community is here for you! This is indeed a hard process and the mental part honestly is the hardest part. I hope the CAT scan gives you some answers! Is there any relief for the pain while you wait?

Sending hugs I’m 3 weeks in after having TKR and it’s so painful trying to do exercise in pain hematoma after surgery and hives I feel for you as I’m in horrendous pain 🌷I will pray for you 🥰

I’m 7 weeks too. When someone asks how the knee is doing my current answer is that it hurts every day. My surgeon says it’s normal. It wasn’t an issue with my first TKR, but here we are. I hope you get improvement soon.

I'm at 12 days post op and yesterday I had the worst pain. I'm used to pain, but this pain overtook me. I've been having sharp pains and swelling. All I've been doing is cry honey❤️

I’m 16 days postop this is one of the toughest journeys I’ve been on roller coaster of pain no pain feeling good not feeling good emotional wreck, insomnia. It goes on and on the pain after physical therapy. It’s just crazy. Sending prayers to everyone that your recovery and your journey is soft and kind to you.

I hope you feel better. I had mine 7 weeks ago. I am so stiff, not too much pain, just like nerves pain. I over did it at 3 weeks. We will be ok! ❤️

Week 6 and my leg feels like its on fire at times. Muscles all over my leg hurt. The nerves are sending jolts as they try to reconnect. PT says that the leg is over compinsating and relearning what to do. It really a battle that we have to get through to feel better. And, we will. Hang in there, it takes time and patience. You've got this. ❤️
