He did bring up a very interesting point during that interview, though he was trying to use it to support his nonsense, which was that despite all the warnings regarding AI there have been no regulations or anything to prevent the dangers associated with it. That is a valid and concerning observation, but it absolutely does not support his theory that AI is going nowhere.

don't know who this guy you're talking about is but think you're exaggerating the data center supporter take. data centers might be accepted if revenue sharing, taxing was on the table but big tech wasn't offering that largely, just running up people's electric bills, polluting, free jobs, etc until the backlash now and maybe are starting to change their tune

You have to second guess the hyperbole on both sides. I'd say Elon is probably the best example of playing the hyperbolic language to drum up attention and money/funding using both ends of the spectrum to spark, fear, anger and joy to get his point across.
