@thestepanyanclinic: We cannot magically rub sunspots away with a cotton swab. 🪄 Pigmented lesions can be treated in several ways depending on what we’re actually looking at. Chemical peels, TCA, IPL, and certain lasers can all be used to target pigmentation, but the treatment has to match the type and depth of the pigment. And that post-treatment flaking? VERY likely what you’re seeing here. After certain laser or light-based treatments, pigment can darken, rise toward the surface, and eventually shed as the skin heals. The important part: NOT EVERY BROWN SPOT IS THE SAME. Before treating pigmentation, you need to know what you’re treating. Sunspots, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and potentially concerning lesions all require different considerations.
