I agree and disagree. I try to hit one or two tourist things on a trip. Then I try to see local stuff and relax. And repeat visits allow me to build up my tourist experience

I went solo to Japan in March and did all the tourist things I could 😂. Shibuya sky, Shinkansen, TeamLabs, Shibuya crossing, Osaka Castle, Tokyo Skytree, Ichiran, Shinjuku...... Hell I got addicted to CoCo Ichibanya and ate there 6 times in my 14 days in Japan 😅

Disney, Times Square, and the Grand Canyon aren’t tourist traps. The exception would be Times Square for the ball drop; no one should do that.

I agree. People get too hung up on “tourist spots”. They became tourist spots for a reason! 😂 BUT…you HAVE to mix in some super local off the beaten path stuff too and NEVER eat at a restaurant you can eat at back home.

Yea I’ve been to the national mall to see the monuments with out of town friends so many times. But it’s still a really beautiful park to walk through and everyone should do it at least once. I have favorite monuments. Every DC area native does.
