I bought my 6.5 silverado blown up and I had a good 1992 6.2 that I swapped into the truck. so I have the higher compression ratio but it's arp head studded and running 12 psi boost with the factory turbo with a billet compressor wheel. not fast but it sounds cool and gets good mpg

that front axle is pretty stout surprisingly. the rear on the other hand, I would swap in a 9.5" semi float 14bolt from a K/V20 burb and swap to 8 lug hubs on the front. you can also get factory replacement dana/Spicer ball joints from summit for that axle, just did them in my 88 and they went together perfectly. Just need to get a fancy tool for the sleeves if you don't already have it

When you stud the heads torque them to 125 foot pounds I did with felpro gaskets and I run 25 psi with no problems

It’s a 6.5. You’re not going to make enough power to really worry about it breaking axles. I’d still just run it

Those axles are probably fine. even if you went through and replaced all the bearings and seals you’d be in it cheaper than a Dana 60 swap, especially if you factor in your time .
