When I was a freshman in hs I was the new kid at a small school. The first few weeks of school I would eat lunch by myself in the hallway. One day the popular girls came up to me and invited me to sit with them. When I joined them they asked why I didn’t sit with them and thought I thought I was better than them. I’m quiet at work and don’t talk to people unless I have a reason to…. And man does it drive them nuts. I don’t care about workplace drama or gossip - I want to do my job and go home. The judgement from others because of this is wild.

People will project on you, have the assumption that you are unfriendly and will look for anything with their own confirmation bias that confirms that in their mind, and have less empathy for problems like this. It’s so dumb, especially in work settings. I don’t even care though because at my job I heard them talking bad about this one girl for being a social butterfly and yet I feel like they complain about me being quiet so you can’t win with some ppl.

I was told by people I had only met a few days prior while on vacation that I was “snobby” because I didn’t interrupt their group conversation to shout “hello”. I said “hello” but they didn’t hear me. I thought it was trashy to call me this especially when we don’t know each other. I’m not snobby. I’m quiet & reserved & because of folks I just described, they’re lucky I’m not violent 😊

I literally have nothing in my brain and they get triggered by it and try to get me to react to their triggers. It’s so tiring and embarrassing seeing people act like this getting offended by everything. Why do people have to make a huge scene out of everything. Poughkeepsie, NYers are so dramatic especially when they drive. Absolutely hate it. Nothing feels fun anymore or enjoyable because of it.
