I recently lost my daughter kali Grace to suicide. I’ve struggled with my mental health before we lost her. I’m doing terrible. It’s been 9 months. I can’t get out of bed or shower most days. I can’t live without her. She was my life. Forever 21 💕💕

As someone who recently lost my dad and dog, I see you. I’m in graduate school and always thinking about how this completely changed my life and most don’t understand. I hope as I heal, I can find a way to help patients navigate grief. Thanks for your transparency, and so happy you had that dream 💕

I usually recommend Surviving Grief: 365 Days a Year by Gary Sturgis to most of my patients.

It's been a year and a half since I lost my dad. I've cried once. I've struggled so much.

Ooh an unexpected visit… I’m in the process of losing my mom. It’s imminent- feels that way. And it’s the saddest process I’ve ever had to experience. Today was hard. I just laid next to her and cried. Anticipatory grief is real. I can’t believe I’m here. 💔

Death is so easy compared to losing someone that’s still alive or the pain and trauma I been through. The medical field is wrong in my opinion

Lost my mom in April. Prior to that, I was so scared to talk about death or even think about it. I feel like I’ve entered a new portal.

I tragically and shockingly lost my dad 9 years ago and I still grieve his loss and was recently grief shamed for still thinking of and missing my dad 9 years later.. it changes your whole world and some people can’t understand that. I’m not consumed by his loss anymore but I still very much feel it.

My whole world view, concept of self and global identities changed. I will literally never be who I was before that loss. Accepting grief as a form of love is a difficult juxtaposition when it was a complicated ending / family dynamics. Dissociating through an immense loss, shame, anger, guilt, weeding through confusion to find answers. I grieve the version of me I thought I was and who I’ve become to move through life. Feels like I battled my worst fear and lost

I’m sorry for your loss. What an amazing experience to have a dream with your dad. Grief changes you and it’s a change that I really can’t explain. Grief isn’t a one size fits all and that’s ok. After losing my brother last year, I would wake up at 3 in morning and just cry and let it out. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Day to day life after feels like you are auto pilot. Every time I check in internally with myself, I just feel broken. Can’t go back to who you were before it!

I lost my partner of 22 years, 13 years ago. He was the love of my life. I’ve been in therapy for 13 years as well. The grief rewires you. That type of loss and associated pain is so intense. It felt like someone removed every other cell in my body. Doc, if you’re looking for stories to supplement your research, I’ll talk to you and give you the whole story.

I lost my parents just months apart when I was only 37 and it was a difficult morning lesson. Have you ever lost a patient. My husband's psychiatrist had a very difficult time when my husband committed suicide, extenuating circumstances I don't want to get into here but in the end I had to assure psych. that I didn't hold anything against him and forgave him.
