I am in New Jersey and have oil heat. I’m kind of terrified for this winter. I’ve been making blankets.

We are soooo screwed. I have never dreaded a winter more than this year. I’m planning to switch to an electric pump because I have solar, but it isn’t going to happen as quickly as it needs to.

I keep my heat at 62° in the winter. Now I feel like I’m gonna have to keep it at 60°. Scary times.

We are in the northeast and winter can be brutal temp wise. We have electricity heat, colonial home. Any recommendations bc last year we had 800.00 month electric bill. Please no funny comments lol. Very nervous this year.

The El Niño may keep the winter mild in the NE. I hope for their sakes it does.

Probably just my paranoia speaking, but it seems like St John’s Refinery is guilty of price manipulation waiting til cold weather to shut the refinery down for maintenance, why not do the maintenance during late spring or summer…..

Grandparents live in CT they had heating oil delivered on Tuesday. They have a 1000 gallon tank but rarely fill it unless they see a reason. This year was that reason, $2700 for approximately 600 gallons. My brothers and I cut and split 8 cords of wood for them over the summer, so they’ll be set. 10 years ago they could fill an empty tank for as much money as they spent this year for half. Its nuts.

I could 💩 a better president :
Our local weatherman told us that they released the forecast for this year, and of course there is 100% chance of an El Niño, there is a 90% chance of a super El Niño in the New England area. But the constellation I have, it’s not going to be a very cold season. It’s going to be very wet, but it’s not going to be as cold so maybe that will help save us from this energy crisis.
