Basi isn't just vinegar or suka. it is actually a liquor made of sugar cane originated in PIDDIG ILOCOS NORTE. That's why they celebrate Basi Revolt because when the Spanish colonized our country the Philippines they find that basi is a good class of alcohol and they try to steal it from the locals. Some of the barangays of Piddig are named because of the revolution. one is ab-abut where they dig holes in the ground to hide the basi. the other is suqsuquen means they hide the basi in a pile of dried grass. every professor,historian or even doctor in education should know that. some of the locals travel to preserve the basi and they was ambush in San Vicente Ilocos Sur and the revolution between Piddigenueos and Spanish fight there and that's when the time that the basi is named as their own. that's the FACT!! certainly agree. the younger generations needs to know more about life not how to depend on AI for everything. They must be taught how to plant food for survival and it should be included on school curriculum. learn the basic.
