long comment! i’ve been a disc user for a year now, so i hope i’ll be good at explaining. for everyone asking how it stays in, when you slide it up the v*gin*l canal, it positions itself upright in your c*rvix due to the natural shape of your anatomy. so it literally sits up in the c*rvix as if you sit a bowl down on the table! as far as “how does it self empty when you pee”, when you use the bathroom, you subconsciously push to get things started, which relaxes ~down there~, causing your c*rvix to open up, causing the disc to start to unsuction itself to start turning itself downward in the slope of the canal as if it is sliding out. when i go to remove mine, i push as if i’m trying to poop, which again unsuctions itself so you can then reach up with your finger in a hook position and grab the rim, and then you simply just pull it out. yes it is very messy, so i try my hardest to take it out in the shower, however it’s fine over the toilet as long as you’re sitting far enough back and your legs are wide enough to make room for the flow, ya know?? and when i go to insert it again, the biggest thing that helped me is to push (again like im pooping) to open up my c*rvix again so it makes it less uncomfortable to insert. i hope i made any sort of sense!!

I use mine when I’m home but I don’t trust it when I’m out and about. You know how everyone is saying when you want to get it to release you bear down like you’re pooping? Or how it self empties the same way? Yeah same thing kinda happens when you lift something heavy, sneeze or anything that flexes your downstairs muscles 😅. I still love it and use it the entire time I’m home but if you’re going to be active, or out and about I’d wear a backup pad.

Before I got pregnant, I had a retroverted uterus so it wouldn’t sit in there correctly (it would leak a bit /:). They were also slightly too big for my anatomy which was a bummer. I use cups & underwear now but will probably try them again now tho

I have the disposable one that self empties when you pee, love it! To take it out I squat in the shower, bare down like I’m pooping, use my index finger to hook it and pull. Sanitize it properly and pop it back in 😁. I have an iud and it hasn’t been an issue like period cups can be.
