PGY 23 Attending here. Thank you for posting this. I feel seen and am always grateful to have specialists come down to help us... This afternoon when I woke up after my night shift last night at the level 1 Trauma Center, my daughter asked me how the night was. I told her nothing out of the ordinary, and she asked if anything was memorable. I told her about the drunk guy that jumped out of the CT scanner, urinated in the trash can, then tried to punch me, before getting sedated and restrained… Just another typical night of chaos mixed in with complex decision making for truly sick patients and providing reassurance to the worried well. Welcome to the ER!
