I loveeeeeeeeeee lisa as a pop girl but I do think her goal and "identity" as an artist is as a performer. She makes music that she wants to dance to and doesn't seem that interested in anything beyond that, which personally I'm fine with. Music just doesn't seem to be a confessional thing for her. But I will say for her debut year, she was introduced to a big audience on the white lotus where she spoke Thai and played a Thai character. While alter ego the album wasn't about that, I don't think she's shying away from it or not embracing it; music just isn't her vehicle for that

I get where you’re coming from but respectfully I don’t think that someone showcasing their cultural heritage would make their art better. I listen to Lisa‘s music to get uptempo performance oriented songs! That’s what sells her image to me. I don’t think she’s the most visionary but has an okay team backing her up. I think her issue lies within limited communication and not framing herself to be a musician in any way. Lisa is more of a brand/ product and I am not using that description to dehumanise her! Jennie is trying to frame herself to be a creative versatile visionary while Rosé is framing herself to be the honest singer songwriter type girl. I just think Lisa‘s image was always about her being palatable and an S tier live performer, hence why her music is lacking lyrically. The production is still nice and fulfilling of it’s job live, the songs just lack much personal value but as I said I don’t think Lisa is interested in being personal with her artistry, she embodies a performer

It didn’t really have to be about her heritage. It couldve been about like where she grew up what her experience like living in Korea being in a in a band a Korean band how does she deal with racism? Anything really.. what was it like to be the only Thai girl in like a group of bunch of Korean women Korean company you know being surrounded people who don’t know her culture or people who doesn’t share a culture with her

i just dont think she wants to be intimate or dig deep at least yet. i mean jennie and rosé has been incredibly personal about their albums and wanted intimate interviews and etc. lisa has never ever marketed her music to ever be “deep” or personal, instead shes consistently saying she only wants people to dance to it, feel good to it, and party to it. i think a month ago lisa revealed that only now she was feeling ready to show people the private side of her life. people who work with her even said lisa is always stopping herself from “saying too much” or getting too vulnerable. i think lisa has a boundary shes very afraid to step into.

why yall hating??? she‘s right. as a lisa fan i also was a bit surprised with the 5 alter egos. i mean i as a blink know her but newer audience wouldnt. i mean i remember her saying she is a mix of all 5 of them but still, for a debut album having 5 alter egos isnt a good choice. in future? sure when people know who you are. i love concept albums and i think the idea is great but as a debut album… not the best choice

I like Lisa, and I really hope she finds her artistic identity soon. Alter Ego was really a collection of missed opportunities that could have changed her trajectory. It was frustrating, mostly because we’re so used to American media portraying other cultures as exotic. So, for someone like Lisa to have a platform to genuinely showcase the reality of her country through her own eyes, like Adela is doing, for example, is such a unique and valuable opportunity! I really hope she nails it this time.

It gets boring, the same lyrics “i am the baddest, richest, coolest“ etc like okay we get it. But she had the chance to talk about her journey to come to Korea the struggle not knowing the language, culture etc etc like so much but no it’s always the same it gets really boring.
