my character was taken by a vampire, and in the 10 years that he was enthralled, not just his family, but the entire region he was born and raised in has been turned into 'the wastes'. the only living thing left there was his god, who saw him return and told him to find a new god. the only thing he has left of his little sister is her tent (the fairfields, now the wastes, was full of druidic, nomadic people. the tents are heirlooms passed down through generations) and an amulet with his 3 year old nieces spirit trapped inside, because their god begged death to spare them, not knowing what would happen)
