I always pack a muzzle in case of a medical emergency! They’re still animals and you won’t know how they will react if they’re seriously injured and need carried down the trail until it happens. I’ve never had to use it but I always bring it

A doggy first aid kit always makes me feel so much better when we’re out hiking (especially if it’s a rougher trail)! Most of the ones I’ve seen don’t have anything to really stop bleeding though, so I always add in a bit of stypic powder too. Luckily, we haven’t needed to use anything yet, but the peace of mind it brings is so worth it!

Garmin pro 550 remote and TT25 collar. It’s expensive, but if your dog does run off while off leash you can track them. I hunt with my dogs so that’s pretty much the immediate purchase, but it’s a life saver.
