Everyone also misses the most important part of targets return policy: we can deny returns if we suspect fraud or abuse. Returning all your kids dirty clothes is abuse of the policy!

My store does it even if it’s worn torn and out grown. Which I thought was the purpose of the cat and jack return thing but I supposed it isn’t? I will say it sucks having to explain to a lady why she can’t return an item from 2016 …. Cus it only goes a year back and you have to have a receipt 😭😭😭😭

as a leader we take them as long as we have proof of purchase and the clothes are clean. If we are told it’s due to sizing we refer to the policy and don’t take the return.

i denied a cat and jack return because our store doesn’t accept them unless they’re new or defective and the lady went to a store that does accept them and then came back to my store to “report” me to corporate 😭💀💀

The policy is there for quality control issues. We will accept the return if there was an issue with like a popped seam or if the zipper or snap broke or it ripped after wearing it a few times. But we're not gonna return your stuff if you have a bag full of stuff your kid wore to death and outgrew. And we do NOT do in-store credit with ID for Cat and Jack anymore.

I hate cat and jack returns. I think we are one of few in our district that actually to accept them and they are coming in with BAGS full. I think one return took us an hour and now we are constantly calling for a backup

My store is really strict about how it has to be defective aka tear in the knee or just torn. I always feel so bad about it. But it makes so much sense because why return like 100 dollar worth of clothing when you have to defect it all out especially when all of it has been worn for a whole year and reason why is cause grown out. I understand actually defective things but items not riped or completely fine and its just grown out thats just taking targets money away.

Fortunately we can deny at our location, if it’s clearly used it doesn’t fall under the policy and I’m sure as hell not touching any used clothing SPECIALLY when people chose not to wash their sht before they return it 🤮

our target has made it very clear that cat and jack returns are only for exchanging the item for the EXACT SAME item. and you still need to have the receipt so we know it's been under a year
