Fake profiles used in romance scams, impersonation fraud, investment scams, rental scams, fake job offers and social media fraud frequently use photographs stolen from completely innocent people. One of the quickest checks you can make is a reverse image search. Instead of searching with words, you search using the actual photograph to see where else it may appear online. WHAT CAN A REVERSE IMAGE SEARCH REVEAL? It may help you discover that: The same photograph appears under several different names. The image belongs to someone completely different. Photographs have been taken from social media, professional profiles or websites. The person appears in scam-warning reports. A supposed property, product or business image has been copied from elsewhere. Different photographs connected to the same profile have completely different origins.
