I'll be starting mine next year. Spent this year learning to garden on a small scale and clearing out 600 square feet to garden in for next year. And there will be a Peggy martin rose arch in the front also arches going down the walk way of beans tomatoes and other vining plants.

My cattle panel arch has been the best part of my little garden. Totally worth it.

Our entire homestead is held together by zip ties, hose clamps, and a prayer.

I did an arch between my raised beds and didn’t even have to tie it off. May be a little spring loaded. Who knows. We live on the edge around my place 😝

So this actually isn't the best way to train a climbing rose. You want to train the canes mora horizontal and have them zigzag around the trellis and up. If you train the canes horizontally, it will trick the rose into growing lateral canes, which means more branches and more blooms.

Another cool project that I’m saving but probably won’t do. My husband is getting tired of all of my projects 😂 this one is beautiful for sure!

Love zip ties! Built this same trellis bought a Peggy Martin but it is not growing like yours. I’m in zone 7B-any idea how I can get it to thrive?

I use the metal clips. Zip ties are easier for sure but I like the stability of the metal clips.

Did you plant one rose bush on each side?

This is also how you make a squash/pumpkin arch, which will let any squash you grow go vertical, saving yard space!! 😊

I bought some reusable garden zip ties and I LOVE them. they've allowed me to keep adjusting my jasmine as needed without having to cut them or create a ton of waste. Ive been using the same box for like 2 years

Get a nice mulch base around that trellis - block the weeds, keep the roots nice and moist

Only problem I have with them zip-ties is the sun cooks em and they randomly decide to break and I have to replace them. 😳

You need to bend the cane’s horizontal in order for it to produce large flushes of blooms.

with Peggys remember this: first year they sleep, second year they creep, third year they leap.
