@gigaqian: China’s Tiangong Ultra just ran 100 meters in 8.64 seconds at the 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, significantly faster than Usain Bolt’s 9.58-second human world-record time! But the speed isn’t the most interesting part. Humanoid bodies are improving incredibly fast while perception, decision-making, turning and safely navigating the real world are still much harder problems. The body may be getting there before the brain. #China #Robotics #HumanoidRobots #TechNews #GigaQian

My car can beat Usain Bolt, too. Machine against human, no different than the robots. Who cares.

What if the padded wall *was* the braking plan?….the robot thought it could survive the impact?…saw letting the wall provide the brakes as a more efficient use of resources?

Eventually they are going to have to add survivability as a metric & start severely punishing robot designs that basically destroy the robot at the end… cuz like what is the point of designing a robot that is intentionally destroyed by what you designed it to do… they are basically making single use robots, which is unsustainable, long term.

These are insane! I'm blown away by the advancements. I wish I had spent more time learning robotics when I was younger.

Gotta do a video on GLM 5.3 Flash. I think it was the ox alpha model. Outperforms sonnet 5 on most benchmarks, open weights. Runs on my 2 DGX sparks at 1M context, 40 t/s.
