@elevatemd: If you’re in #perimenopause and it feels like your anxiety is ruining your life… THIS VIDEO IS FOR YOU! 🫠 But first, let’s break down why this is happening in the first place. 🤔 During perimenopause, both estrogen and progesterone become unpredictable, but progesterone is usually the first to decline. 📉 Progesterone plays a huge role in GABA production, which is your brain’s natural calming neurotransmitter. When progesterone drops, GABA drops with it, leaving your nervous system stuck in a much more reactive, fight-or-flight state. Here’s exactly what I’d try first… 👉🏻 Take 200-400mg Magnesium Glycinate + 200mg L-theanine 1-2 hours before bed. For daytime anxiety, add another 200mg of L-theanine in the morning. This combo is genuinely life changing. 🤌🏻 👉🏻 Progesterone therapy: Progesterone is so underrated when it comes to anxiety relief. Since it directly supports GABA production, restoring it can be incredibly effective for hormonal anxiety, mood, and insomnia. Let me know in the comments if you want more anxiety hacks, because I’ve got a few more options that are super effective! ❤️ 🩺📲 If you’re in the US and curious about hormone therapy for perimenopause or menopause symptom management, go to the 🔗 in my bio to book a free 30 minute call with my team to learn how to get started. 🤗 #hormonehealth #hormonalimbalance #womenover30 #womenover40

The mag and pro have been helpful. But the L-Theanine is what has really been the key for thwarting my anxiety attacks. Within 20-ish minutes I’m mellowed out. I keep a bottle with me always.

Is there a natural progesterone? I have an allergic reaction to the synthetic kind. I have been on testosterone cream and it’s helped!

I can’t take oral progesterone even at 50mg dose , tried low dose cream and no difference. Guess I’m gonna have to raw dog it. I hate it here. Anxiety has taken over my life

Please, also speak about the fact many women have paradoxical reaction to Progesterone and that it heightens their anxiety. It is great for some but catastrophic for others.

If adding magnesium glycinate, be on the lookout for paradoxical reaction. My pcp and hormone specialist both advised me to take it for sleep and stress and it made me spiral - intense anxiety, wired all day, insomnia, and horrendous heart palpitations (PVCs). It’s not a common reaction, but I wish I had known the possibility before spending the last 3 months crashing out!

I cannot handle magnesium at all 😭 I’ve tried several different brands and types and everything I’ve tried gave me such an awful stomach ache. I do L-theanine though and it’s the best.
