@youngeryoudoc: Neck pain? Pull your tongue. 30 seconds. Then turn your head. Your tongue is wired into the same nerves and fascia as your neck. Pull on one end and the other end lets go. How does that work? ↓ For educational purposes only. Not medical advice. Consult your healthcare provider before attempting. #neckpain #neckpainrelief #vagusnerve #fascia #chiropractor

Jeremiah Jimerson :
Two things happen when you pull your tongue.
Fascia: your tongue anchors to the hyoid bone, and the hyoid ties into the deep fascia running down the front of your neck. Traction on the tongue unloads that whole chain.
Neurology: the tongue is one of the most nerve-dense tissues in your body, and it shares circuitry with the vagus nerve and the upper neck. Stretching it floods the brainstem with a safe, novel signal. Your brain reads that as ‘no threat here’ and turns down the guarding in the neck muscles. You didn’t stretch the muscle, you changed the signal telling it to stay tight.
