After the shooting at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, a call went out for blood donations, and by the next day, they were telling people to stop coming because they were full. People were lined up down the block to give blood and those who have gotten drunk the night before were calling companies to come give them IV to clear their blood up so they could go donate

I think a lot of these exist because the US treats aid as a privilege not a right. In other nations yes your neighbors won’t help you as much but that’s also because the government is expected to make sure your basic needs are met. So it has its pros in the US but also means you need to be lucky and hope for people around you to help

for as individualistic as we are in america, we're actually quite kind. the type of kindness depends on the area(i.e. new yorkers being kind but not nice) but we're a shockingly kind people

I feel like a lot of people don’t talk about how much culture America has you can find new cultures in every state and you go to and I’ve traveled through a few states over the span of three days and in just that time I got to experience so many cultures and it was so much fun coming from someone who has never left their home state until then.
