consciousness is just our awareness to our environment. it’s the ego. our identity, personality, thoughts, all of it is the ego. what we are is the thing that hears that voice in our head. consciousness can be destroyed by a brain injury which implies that it only exists within the brain.. because our body can still stay even after our consciousness is gone. it’s a product of the mind. our spirit is something completely different.. that’s what will still exist once our vessel on this planet dies. 99% of people don’t even know their spirit because they get it confused with the ego. sadly i don’t know my spirit either but im trying to look inward to be able to conceptualize it. now maybe our ego/consciousness is molded by the spirit.. that’s something im still trying to understand. if anything our ego/identity is a mix of our spirit, environment, and mind.

it was completely inconceivable for thousands of years that the same force that pulled an apple to the ground also kept the sun moving across the sky in orbit until Issac Newton alone unified those ideas. You not being able to conceptualize consciousness and humanity not fully understanding it yet is not evidence that it’s inherently spiritual.

This argument doesn't correlate to religion, it only critiques the thought that conciousness is merely physical, which is already true. Energy, as in electricity still plays an important role in making conciousness conciousness. The inflection of "the universe wone up upon itself" is roothed in aesthetics, it's not an objective claim that one can put upon everyone. I also believe that conciousness is a separate object from our physical components, so calling it as "the unalive physical turning alive and concious" seems wrong to me. We can be made out of flesh and bone, but it's the sum of the reflection of action, instinct, memory, communication and critical thinking that makes conciousness conciousness

4.6 billion years is our best guess… that is a wildly, incomprehensible amount of time for atoms, molecules, and energy to transform in ways that we can hardly even begin to understand. What pisses me off about “spiritualists” is that they can’t just say they don’t know. There has to be some higher power, some god, some inexplicably complex answer that is outside our capabilities of understanding… when in reality, this feels like a comforting excuse instead of respecting the truly unbelievable amount of time that has passed for our universe
