the director of the music video has said that it was directly inspired by this kind of propaganda being put out by the us military at the time. so it's not ironic nor is it really subtle

I played the original America’s Army on the pc when it first came out. I was the target age for what they were propagandizing. Yet It still failed at recruiting me to enlist.

I have that one and the sequel on Xbox 360. I just tried the sequel (America's Army: True Soldiers) and it was pretty awful!

They way i clocked that it was America's Army, cause I remember that there was an interactive (recruitment) thing at Six Flags around the time the game came out and I played it inside a Humvee.

I actually already knew this as a fan of green day, and it's definitely the second interpretation. they didn't just accidentally put in US army propaganda into their music video, they were being very intentional.

I'm not sure if you've done a video on it, but do you know what video game was being played by the little boy in the first 5 minutes of "The Silence" 2019. if it is real it has to be a Kinect game judging by how he played it
