I stayed there three months after the grand opening when I was a kid. The Nile ride was so cool and creepy. Our parents let us run around the hotel by ourselves, at night. I couldn’t even imagine that now.

I miss the old Luxor when they leaned into the theme more. I was an Egypt kid growing up, so it was like heaven for me.

This makes so much sense! As a person who only went recently, it felt really empty like there was something missing and that the hotel was designed in a weird way besides just a pyramid.

It was pretty awesome as a kid that was already into Egypt at the time. Plus the diagonal elevator rides were cool.

I got the worst yeast infection of my entire life at the Luxor in the 90’s and blame that ride!
