My biggest gripe with the dumbing down of Brian was when he and Ida were breaking up most recently. He brings up that he went to Brown, Ida's impressed, and Quagmire says it was for "2 months" or something like that. But that's not true, Quagmires obviously referring to the Episode where Brian goes to Brown, but the premise of that episode was Brian was ONE credit shy of graduating.

it did kind of bother me with the Brian play episode how the writing diminished Brian's first real writing achievement in maybe seasons. Just for Stewie to selflessly save him with an intentionally bad rewrite. However I did like the ending scene with them on Times Square steps and Brian's opening up that while it isn't a masterpiece it was good writing and his.
