It is hard having siblings that share a different parent and it’s also hard being the sibling that has to go back and forth between households. That’s why healthy co-parenting is very important.. being able to bring your sibling to your other parents house or going to their other parents house is so much more fun and just feels like one big blended family.

i’m 26 now but growing up i would visit my dad (wasn’t even half and half) but now that i’m older i actually feel bad because i would come home from holidays with extra presents, went on vacations without my brother growing up, and it just hurts my heart to know that we didn’t grow up the same, but also i would never say that having 4 parents sucks because it was the best ever. i just think both kids should be included and thought about for holidays and stuff.. :/

I relate to this so hard . My son would do the same thing when my daughter would go to her dad’s house . It’s hard .

Well if they could both grow up and put the boys first… they could both do stuff with the boys when Rachel has Greyson… even if they could go to the park together. That’s a lot for kids being with your brother one week but not the next? its sad. I hope they can start putting them first.

This is something that’s not talked about enough! I’m a step mom to two beautiful girls and they are a lot older then my kids their little siblings I’ve been in the girls life’s since they were toddlers and we tried right away for a baby and didn’t have our first until our oldest girl was 8 and the other 7 and they were there when their baby sister was born and it was so beautiful to see our family be together no half just siblings! And then we had 2 more babies 1 more girl and the last was a boy and my kids their little siblings are their babies these kids mean everything to them! 🥺 Even with the age gap they are all so close and the hardest part has been they lived in a different state as my kids have grown up they are now 18 and 19 and are away at college but they don’t miss things they FaceTime them multiple times a week and send them gifts and spoil them and show up for them! But being apart and dropping them off after a visit has always been hard it’s adjustment but makes the visits that special but the heartache is so hard it’s not for the faint of heart and it’s not easy being a step mom but I got lucky with my step daughters they are my best friend but I wish this was talked about more it doesn’t effect just the child or the parents it effects the step parents and most importantly the other siblings! The best advice is let them be involved with their siblings let them be close! Put feelings aside and pride for all the kids not the just the bio kids, having pride and drama and jealousy can destroy siblings they can get jealous or mean and they feel that half siblings but if you raise them how we did my kids don’t consider them half they are siblings period! I’ve loved how mama c has done so well with this when it comes to the boys 🥺

My youngest is 6 and still has a hard time when his other brothers go to the other parents house. So we always make the most of everyday ♥️
