@richbrecklin: I’ve watched a lot of Arizona sunsets over the last 5 years, but this might be my favorite spot in the Phoenix area. This is up in the San Tan Mountains near Queen Creek, and the higher you get, the better it gets. Just be mindful of the weather and temps if you go. The best part is timing it so you’re near the top right before the sun starts dropping behind the mountains. I’ve done this hike quite a lot, and the view still doesn’t get old. Just make sure you give yourself enough time to get back down before it gets dark. One of those places that reminds me why I love living in Arizona.
