I always say don’t go by statistics. My mom had stage four lung. And is currently in remission, especially when doctors said it was impossible. She is doing the unthinkable. We of course, don’t know what the future holds but years ago when she was told this remission wasn’t even in the equation.

my husband had egfr exon 20 mutation. he lived 45 months post diagnosis. the average survival for his type when he was diagnosed was only 16 months. ALK has a much higher over all survival time. hope you're one of the 10 plus!

My mom died years ago (about 15). She had large and small cell (both types in her tumor) and her tumor was wrapped around her aorta and it was inoperable. She lived nearly three years I believe as she had a will to live and wanted to see her first grandchild graduate. Half her siblings and dad died of lung cancer. Yes, they all smoked. But many get lung cancer that have never smoked. I do wish some of the treatments available now were available then but I am glad you have those opportunities. Good luck to you.

My husband started out with lung cancer in 2021. Unfortunately he passed away on August 12. 2025. I miss him so much! Im sorry I hope everything goes well!

did your voice change as a symptom? I have 4 cysts in my lungs 🫁 I have had pneumonia 7 times and two lung infections in the last 2 years. I have bad bone pain in the last 6months doctor iant listening to me. had to fight for the ct scan it hurts to breathe some days and my voice changed in the last 6months I have had a persistent cough for the last 6 months as well. they tried 2 lots of steriods 6 time antibiotics and I still have it. i am exhausted 😩 I dont know what else to do. I am on a list to see a lung specialist. I also have Macrocytosis of the blood. and my liver doesnt store protein. i had an inflamed pancreas with cysts and cysts on my liver but this doctor doesnt care. he just says sorry for your troubles. I could cry
